From the Parents...
"Michelle Lane is an amazing vocal instructor. Not only does she teach vocal technique but she also incorporates acting in a way that makes it a very unique learning experience . My daughter has loved working with her and has not only greatly improved her range and tone but she has also developed more poise and confidence in performing and in the audition process. Michelle teaches techniques that would normally be taught at a college level. My daughter was a new transfer student in a highly demanding and competitive theater department and, after working with Michelle, progressed from the ensemble in the Summer show to a lead role in the Spring musical. Michelle is a total professional as well as a joy to work with. Michelle gets the most out of a voice, and she does it in a way that is positive and encouraging. I cannot recommend her highly enough" - Kerry Ehrin, Co-creator and Executive Producer, BATES MOTEL
"My daughter has been taking vocal lessons with Michelle for the past three years. Not only has Michelle helped her prepare for a leading role in a high school musical with both vocals and acting, she also helped her with all her college auditions including videoing them in her studio. Michelle has the amazing ability to adapt her lessons to bring out the best in each student and for my daughter, she searched for ways that worked for her individual needs. Michelle is not only extremely talented and well-trained herself, she is so patient, compassionate and encouraging with an incredible teaching style and passion for her craft which really sets her apart from other vocal instructors we have had in the past. I cannot express how grateful we are to have found such an amazing human who has helped my daughter so much and has become not only a mentor but a true friend. - Jackie Heron, West Hills, CA
"Michelle is an excellent vocal coach! She helps my daughter grow so much as a singer. Michelle relates very well to her on a personal level. That connection, along with Michelle's talents as a singer and coach, helps my daughter to grow in vocal quality and confidence. Michelle also has done a great job preparing her for college auditions, and professional auditions and finding songs for her repertoire book that match her voice and her potential roles. Thank you Michelle for all you do!" - Claudine Mullenaux, teacher at Chaparral Elementary School, Calabasas, CA
"Michelle Lane has been an excellent acting coach for my son. She is an extremely talented actress and singer, and is very knowledgeable in all aspects of the entertainment business. Michelle has coached my son in several musical productions and has worked with him on T.V. and feature film auditions, which prepared him for his recurring role on a major SHOWTIME series!! Michelle has also offered her guidance with managing my sons acting career and goes above and beyond to make herself available!! I highly recommend Michelle Lane to anyone looking for an acting and/or singing coach!!" - Nancy Ferris, Calabasas, CA
"For those students and parents who are looking for an outstanding vocal coach, Michelle Lane is perfect. She's caring, talented and knows what she's talking about. She has worked with three of my children and taught them things no other teacher has." - Debbie Silverstein-Starkman, Calabasas, CA
"From start to finish, these kids (and their directors) did an outstanding job. So many valuable skills were learned along the way to mounting this excellent production. Many in this cast now have terrific puppetry skills, not a common talent, and certainly an employable one! It takes an amazing amount of coordination and focus to not only make yourself express emotion, but also the puppet, through song and text. I watched my own daughter shine from behind her puppet and noted how, since she was needing to have the puppet express the emotion, she slowed down her usual way of speaking and thus, she was excellent in her role, i.e., taking her time and communicating even clearer than I had seen her do in other shows. Bravo CHS!" - Kelly Lester, Calabasas, CA

From my students...
"Michelle is the most patient, kind and talented vocal coach and mentor I have ever worked with. After years of hating the sound of my own voice, she has completely transformed the way I sing. Her 20 minute vocal warm ups alone are the most valuable techniques I have ever attained in my vocal journey. In just 2 lessons, she has brought out a grit to my voice that I never knew existed. She works on the acting portion of vocal performance which is something I've struggled with for my whole life. Overall, I would recommend her to every single person who wants to improve their voice for any reason. Thank you Michelle! I am so grateful for your work and your warmth." - Keran Oroudjian, Los Angeles, CA
"I cannot put into words how much of an impact Michelle has had on me as a performer and person. She guided me through the most insane yet rewarding year in my training/school journey thus far. I know without a doubt that I would not be where I am today with her. She supported me through every high and every low and taught me to recognize my capabilities and skills rather than just weaknesses or areas of improvement. Michelle set me on the path to go from a confident person to a confident performer! Michelle taught to shift my extreme nerves in the audition room into excitement for what I love to do! Not even a year after starting lessons with Michelle, I booked my first lead in a musical at my school! Also, Michelle got me ahead of the curve with my acting training. She delved into the technique of acting a song as well as monologue work, putting me ahead of the curve once I started studying acting at college, already having a foundation of the concepts! I cannot fathom where I'd be now or how I would have powered through my senior year with her. I am beyond grateful for her mentorship and friendship. I cannot recommend her enough!" - Lauren Bobrow, West Hills, CA
"Working with Michelle Lane on Avenue Q at The University of Arizona was one of the best experiences I have ever had. She is extremely knowledgeable about her field, whether it be puppetry, musical theatre, or acting. She puts 100% of herself into her students work and thrives on her students success. She is such a joy to work with and you shouldn't miss any opportunity you have to work with her. I would absolutely recommend working with Michelle Lane." - Michael Calvoni, Scottsdale, AZ
"I cannot begin to express how much fun I had on this show because of Michelle's hard work. Without her, none of it would have been possible! She really opened my eyes to a world that I never had the chance to, or want to, explore. She gave me courage and hope to know that I will make it one day. It's people like Michelle that people should get the chance to work with and be friends with. She is encouraging and always pushed us to do our best. I cannot thank her enough for the experience and joy that she has brought not only me, but every cast/crew member, director and all of us who worked on our show. Michelle is a true blessing. I know that from all her notes and pushing me to do my very best, "Fantasies really do come true". - Cooper Hallstrom, Tucson, AZ
"My name is Lily and I've known Michelle for 6 years now. Currently I'm studying Musical Theatre at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, but before that, Michelle vocally directed 3 shows I was in: Avenue Q, Young Frankenstein and Funny Girl. For Funny Girl, I played Fanny Brice, and she took so much time to be incredibly personal in terms of teaching. For each song in the show, she gave me very helpful feedback in voice AND acting. Michelle helped me to become a more grounded actress and was very specific in her directing. I am so grateful I was able to work with her because I truly learned so much." - Lily Lester, New York, NY
"I've been working with Michelle for the past few years and it has been fantastic! Michelle has taught me new aspects of my voice I never knew I had. My singing is so much better and my range has gotten so much larger thanks to her help. She taught me how to use my voice in a healthy way, which none of my other voice teachers taught me. Not only am I learning more about my voice, I'm also learning about the acting that goes along with it. She has helped me to to understand how to break a song down and really understand what I am singing. I've had such a great experience with her and I recommend her very much. Michelle is the best!" - Makenzie Ryan, Los Angeles, CA
"Michelle is every bit as good a vocal coach as she is a singer. She gives great notes for any audition song, and does an amazing job with connecting songs with acting. When auditioning for my high school productions, she even helped me overcome fears of getting the high notes at the end of my song. I highly recommend her as a coach." - Nic Charles, Calabasas, CA
